Last year we threw a fall-themed baby shower for my sister’s second baby. We had a lot of fun planning this one starting with her invitation “A little pumpkin is on the way!”
Food
For food, we had mini ham and cheese sandwiches, meatballs, spinach dip, mini pumpkin pies, fruit with a chocolate dip, mini banana puddings, and a caramel apple bar. I think it was a good menu, cute finger foods that we knew would be a crowd pleaser. The food took a lot of prep work but it was worth it. It helped that we didn’t make the spinach dip too, we got it from Red Rocks. If you’re from the Charlotte area then you probably know it’s the best around! I wish I had the recipe!

Decor
For décor, we wanted to keep it pretty simple and used mostly pumpkins. We had a big pumpkin centerpiece which really made an elegant focal point to the food table. To label the food we used mini pumpkins with dowels and signs on card stock that I just printed at home. We had a few flower arrangements scattered around. Then we decorated the fireplaces with felt ball garland, and a couple other garlands with gold glitter text. “It’s a boy” and “little pumpkin”.
Favors
For favors, keeping with the fall-theme we chose caramel popcorn. For these I bought the popcorn at a popcorn shop and filled them into bags I got on Amazon. We tied them with ribbon and added a little round sticker. I made the logo on the sticker and just printed them at home too. I put them in a cute basket, I got this basket from the farmers market when I bought the pumpkins. The guy told me to keep it when I checked out. These favors were so easy and inexpensive!
Games
For the games, these ended up being a lot of fun! I only wanted to do about 3 games/ activities.
- My favorite game was a mashup of dad’s face with mom’s face. This was hilarious and everyone loved it. You take photos of each face and cut their features out into strips (forehead, eyes, nose, lips, chin, etc) then everyone choses which features and pastes them to a piece of paper. Then they hung it up on a cork board for everyone to see.
- Advice for mom-to-be, this is always fun for a baby shower. Guests are able to leave mom to be a little message and advice. You could compile these into a photo album for her afterwards for her to keep.
- Gift bingo, this is a fun game because it makes watching presents opened more fun! For the advice cards and the bingo I bought these on Etsy and printed them at Office Depot to save $.
