I love all things skincare, especially a good body scrub! I’m out of my favorite body scrub so I decided to make a DIY lavender sugar scrub. I already had all these ingredients at home, it’s only THREE ingredients! I started out making this scrub for me but I ended up making one for a friend too. This scrub makes a great gift!! You can see how I make it on IGTV here. My puppy, Hugo, decided to join too.
What you’ll need:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup coconut oil melted
- 15 – 20 drops lavender essential oil
- Glass jar (I used two 4 oz mason jars)
Instructions:
- Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix together thoroughly.
- You can add more or less oil to your liking. (I’d suggest adding about 1/3 cup coconut oil to begin with then add more if to your liking.)
- Store in an airtight container. Use within a month or two since this recipe does not contain any preservatives.
- Use this scrub on your hands, feet and body!
Ideas:
- Add food coloring or soap dye to tint the scrub.
- Use other oils such as fractionated coconut oil, jojoba oil, almond oil, olive oil.
- Add real vanilla extract to make it a vanilla lavender scent.
- Some people use brown sugar instead of white sugar.
- Some people even add lavender pieces, this makes the scrub look so pretty.
These make great gifts! If you are giving as a gift add a tag or label! Here are some printable labels I designed for you. You can print them onto card stock and attach with a ribbon or print on Avery stickers #22830 and stick to the lid of a mason jar.
I made these with two 4 oz mason jars. One for me and one to give to a friend! If making around Christmas time you could use peppermint essential oil to give as gifts!
I hope this scrub helps you to relax!
