Are you looking for something SUPER EASY to DIY in about 30 minutes?
Repainting your mailbox is probably one of the easiest things you can do! I can’t believe how much just a few minutes and a can of spray paint can improve this dingy mailbox so easily. I wish I had a before picture! I never thought I would say “she’s a beaut” about my mailbox before… but here we are…
Here’s how in about 30 minutes:
Step 1:
Clean your mailbox and scrape off any reflectors and sand anything adhesive. Tape off any numbers and the flag front and back.
Step 2:
FIRST COAT: Evenly spray light coats in a side to side motion. Spray the whole mailbox and post in light coat. Do a light coat will prevent drips. Let dry.
- Sprayed whole mailbox with door closed and flag up.
Step 3:
SECOND COAT: Respray in another light coat. Let dry.
- Sprayed whole mailbox with door open and flag up.
Step 4:
THIRD COAT: Final light coat. Let dry, peel off the tape and you’re done!!
- Sprayed whole mailbox with door closed and flag down.
**Notes:
You’ll want to move anything away from the mailbox and possibly put down a drop cloth to protect it from paint over-spray.
Paint: Satin finish with primer
